Anti Oppressive Practice

I am committed to anti-oppressive practice.
This means a continual journey of learning, reflection, and awareness that I have and do get it wrong.

For me the personal is political and politics has a place in the therapy room, we live within systems of oppression and privilege, those systems both underpin and overarch our lives.  It is my responsibility as a therapist to hold space for my clients to explore this space should they wish to.

I am a member of the Radical Therapist network,  the RTN are a group of counsellors and psychotherapists dedicated to intersectional and anti-oppressive therapeutic practice who meet regularly to (un) learn, reframe, heal and re-build ways of working that are fundamentally anti-racist, anti-capitalist and anti-oppressive.
